Rule changes include the following:

Misdemeanors concerning incorrect equipment will no longer be reported to NL & SL Operations by the referees. The responsibility now lies with the respective player/team.

Starting in December, a change to IIHF-rule 59 will be implemented. Players participating in a face-off the wrong way on the first try will not be replaced anymore, but still receive a warning. Teams will also still be sanctioned with a minor penalty if a second face-off violation occurs on the next try. This practice has already been installed in the CHL.

A new member of the Audition- and Compensation Committee has been elected. Daniel Villard, EHC Biel's CEO, replaces Lausanne's CEO Sascha Weibel on that position. Weibel decided to withdraw from the committee.

TV revenues for next season will be CHF 33,4 million, which is CHF 2,625 million more than for the current season. The additional revenues fully benefit the clubs.

There have also been adjustments to the regulations for order and security, taking place with immediate effect. Displaying banners with immoral messages or targeting the police and security services, obstructing the workings of video surveillance in arenas or in regards to hockey games as well as bypassing or hindering the operating methods of entrance - or security systems will all be sanctioned with a two-year countrywide stadium ban.
