Not just 50 percent, as it has been speculated before, but a maximum of 66 percent. This is the capacity which the Federal Council will allow for events with more than 1,000 spectators from October 1.
The final say about the capacity, however, will have the cantons. Before allowing an event and deciding how many people will be allowed in a certain arena, they have to take into account the epidemiological situation and their capacities for contact tracing.
In addition to the smaller capacity, the clubs have to restrict the sale of alcoholic beverages to such an extent that the compliance of the spectators with the protection concepts will not be jeopardized. They are also obliged to monitor the situation within the arenas and penalize people who do not abide by the rules.
The Federal Council has also confirmed several measures, which were already known before and which are part of the protection concept of the National and Swiss League: there will only be seats allowed and no standing areas, every spectator has to wear a mask, and there will be no fans of the visiting team allowed.
