The same applies to EHC Olten. The Canton of Solothurn has decided to ban major events with over 1,000 spectators until the end of January 2021. The Canton of Berne, which was the first of the cantons to impose stricter restrictions on major events, has now decided to go down the same route as Jura, Neuchâtel, and the Valais and allow no spectators at all as of October 24.
The Government Council of Berne wants to defuse the resentment that has arisen in connection with this situation by setting up a round table with the canton's six major professional sports clubs in the next few days. Federal Councilor Viola Amherd will also meet with representatives of the big sports leagues as well as Swiss Olympics next Wednesday, the SDA reports.
The canton of Zürich, on the other hand, has decided not to impose further restrictions on major events. The teams based in Zürich will thus be able to go on as they have since the start of the season.
The National League and the Swiss League have, however, decided to play until November 2. In the international break, they will then lead discussions on how to continue.
