As further restriction to deal with the pandemic, the Swiss Federal Council has decided to limit attendance at public events to 50 people. This includes professional sport events, such as games of the National and the Swiss League.

As the SIHF states, clubs would need financial emergency aid to survive the new round of restrictions, as well as the possibility to implement short-time working compensation for fixed-term contracts. The highest priority would currently be to ensure the professional structures of Swiss ice hockey. To do so, games should be allowed to have a normal crowd again in a timely manner.

League heads and clubs will gather within the next few days to discuss how to deal with the new restrictions.
