Three-quarters of all clubs from National and Swiss League have applied for federal loans, as the Tages-Anzeiger reports. The cutting of the solidarity clause made them more welcoming towards taking the aid. The other conditions are still in place, such as if a club fails to fully repay the loan in the years, it will have to reduce its payroll by 20 percent.
The clubs can also apply for the other form of federal support, the à-fonds-perdu contributions, for the period from October 29 to December 31, until January 31. These contributions are based on the income clubs potentially missed out on through ticketing, measured on what they earned last year during the same period. They are also tied to conditions regarding salaries.
