The award was handed over by Ambühl's teammate Thomas Wellinger during HCD's photo shoot. Wellinger said that when people will talk about Ambühl in fifteen years time, they will speak of the championship titles and his world championship medal, but "the most important thing they will say is that you've always been a great human being."
"For me it's very special", Ambühl said about the award which comes from the fans themselves. "I'm very thankful and I appreciate it a lot."
