Swiss Ice Hockey

The two parties will now negotiate the details in the upcoming weeks in order to close a deal concerning the broadcasting of the Women's League and the MyHockey League games.

In an email, which has been disclosed by Klaus Zaugg (Watson), sent out by the SIHF today, they inform the clubs that they have signed a Letter of Intent with Ringier Sports in regard to their OTT platform. One of the main reasons for choosing Ringier "was the greater visibility of the platform through the cooperation with Blick.ch and the lower annual costs per club."

Furthermore, Ringier Sports would also equip all MyHockey League and Women's League teams with automated camera systems free of charge. SIHF and Ringier Sports aim to broadcast all games of the MyHockey League and the Women's League live on the platform RED (www.projectred.com) by January 1, 2023.

They also plan to broadcast games of all SIHF leagues (without the Swiss League) within two to three seasons. The Swiss Ice Hockey Federation will cover the cost for the teams in the first season.

RED - Ringier Sports

Ringier Sports announced the creation of their streaming and OTT (over the top) platform RED this past February. Their aim is to cover amateur sports in Switzerland. The focus of their launch in August 2022 will be football.
