The AHL's Board of Governors determined that a resumption of the 2019-20 season is not "feasible in the light of current conditions". According to Pierre LeBrun (TSN/RDS/The Athletic), the vote, which was undertaken on Friday, was unanimous.

The league will now focus on the 2020-21 season. The AHL standings as of March 12 are now considered final and "will serve as the basis for determining league awards for the 2019-20 season".
