Sven Bärtschi has been sent to the US-based team Utica Comets - in spite of a new loan agreement with the Manitoba Moose.

As the Utica Observer-Dispatch reports, Bärtschi's agent said that his client is expected to report to Utica. With the Canucks not taking Bärtschi on their "taxi squad" and even sending him to Utica (USA) and not to the Manitoba Moose, the Swiss forward seems once again to have no future with the Canucks.

Only yesterday the Canucks announced a loan agreement with the Manitoba Moose, a Canada-based AHL team. The reason: The mandatory quarantine period for players called back to Vancouver from Manitoba is only seven days instead of 14 days from Utica.

According to the Vancouver-based North Shore News, the Canucks now have six players on their "taxi squad", who are being kept close to the team to step in in case of any Covid-related changes, three players in Manitoba, and nine players (including Sven Bärtschi) in Utica.
