Jessica Campbell has been appointed as assistant coach of the Coachella Valley Firebirds. She will serve next to Dan Bylsma for the first season of the new AHL team, the affiliate of the Seattle Kraken.

For a while, the 30-year-old was negotiating with EHC Kloten for a spot on Jeff Tomlinson's coaching staff. The recently promoted National League member decided to appoint two other assistants, Kimmo Rintanen and Saku Martikainen.

Campbell started her coaching career in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League before coming over to Europe in 2020. Most recently, she served as an assistant for the German national team at the World Championship. Besides her new job with the Firebirds, she will also participate in the New York Rangers' development camp this summer.
