Nico Hischier did not finish last night's game

The captain of the New Jersey Devils left the ice with 4:23 left in the third period after he had taken a deflected puck to his face.

As head coach Lindy Ruff told beat reporter Amanda Stein after the game, he was told that the puck hit Nico Hischier's shield and the shield pushed hard into the forward's face.

Other than that he did not provide an update on Hischier. It thus remains to be seen whether he will be sidelined for a while or whether he will be able to play again right away.

Lindy Ruff does not have an update on #NJDevils Nico Hischier, but said that he was able to talk to him after the game. Still being looked at.
