According to Blick, the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup's main sponsor, Zurich Insurances will also play a role into this. The insurance company will decide in the upcoming weeks whether they will extend their contract with Swiss Ice Hockey. Furthermore, the National League clubs apparently would like to play 54 regular-season games to gain more money. This would, of course, also mean less space in the calendar for the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup.
Be that as it may, this season's edition, as long as everything goes according to plan and the regular season does not start in December, is still very much on. The draw for the first-round matchups is scheduled for 18.00 tonight.
