Just a couple of days ago, the 20-year-old forward received green light by the New Jersey Devils to play at the upcoming IIHF World Championships in Slovakia after the team did not manage to clinch a berth in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs.

According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Hischier will join the Swiss national team for their second week of preparation and might make his debut in the game against France on April 26 in Sierre, which is located just a few kilometers away from his home town Naters.

Less than a week ago, Switzerland's head coach Patrick Fischer announced the roster for the team's first preparation week, which will include two games against Russia on the road in Sochi on April 18 and 20.
