According to Stephan Roth (Blick), the forward will join the national team despite his expiring contract.

As Watson already reported last week, Fiala wants to take part in the World Championship, but it had not been clear yet whether he actually would be able to join the team.

Fiala, who was traded from the Nashville Predators to the Minnesota Wild at the end of February, is at the end of his contract and will have to negotiate a new deal this summer. Thus, playing in the Worlds is, of course, a risk, as a potential injury could impact his future.

The 22-year-old forward played in 64 games for the Predators this season (ten goals, 22 assists) and 19 games for the Wild (three goals, four assists).
