"Such decisions are never easy and thanks to the strong performance of the whole team it was especially hard this year. I would like to thank all four players for their great effort and commitment to the Swiss national team," Patrick Fischer said.

Each player will now be isolated in his hotel room on Sunday and Monday. That phase is followed by a three-day team quarantine. They will be able to practice in the second phase but will not meet with people outside of the team. The Swiss will play their first game on Saturday, May 22.
