The two groups for the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship, scheduled for 26 December 2022 to 5 January 2023 in Halifax (Nova Scotia) and Moncton (New Brunswick), are known. Compared to this year's edition, Switzerland's opponents will be different, except for the USA. Canada, Sweden, Czechia, Germany, and Austria will thus compete in Group A.
The IIHF formed the two groups by ranking each federation on performance at the past five tournaments. The full tournament schedule will be available in the coming weeks.
