A longlist of names for the men's and the women's national team for the Olympic ice hockey tournament has to be submitted by October 15. Switzerland has already done so, and while they will not release the rest of the names, three have been announced - Roman Josi, Nico Hischier, and Timo Meier.

For Nashville Predators-captain Roman Josi, it will be the second time he is part of an Olympic squad after the 2014 games in Sochi. For Nico Hischier (captain of the New Jersey Devils) and Timo Meier (forward for the San Jose Sharks), the tournament in Beijing will be their first time.

"Roman Josi, Nico Hischier and Timo Meier represent Swiss ice hockey on the international stage in an outstanding way through their impressive performances in the world's best league and have been bringing a lot of positive attention to Switzerland as an ice hockey nation for years. We are proud and happy that these three players with their great commitment will represent our country at the Olympic Games in Beijing and will be among the leaders of the Swiss national team", Lars Weibel, Director National Teams, comments.
