mt_ignoreAccording to Johan Svensson (MrMadhawk.se), the 34-year-old American forward Tim Stapleton, who last played for HC Lugano, might join Färjestad BK of the SHL. Svensson has heard this news from two sources.

However, Färjestad's team manager Håkan Loob does not want to confirm that any contract has been signed. He only states that Stapleton is indeed "on their radar." In April, HC Lugano announced that the 34-year-old would have to leave the Bianconeri. His agent then told Ticinonline that he was looking at his options.

Stapleton joined EHC Biel last summer. However, they were not happy with his performance and, therefore, dissolved the contract after 24 games. He then joined HC Lugano and played 24 games for the Bianconeri, scoring 15 points (seven goals, eight assists). (bsc)

UPDATE Färjestad BK has confirmed the signing of Tim Stapleton. The 34-year-old will thus play in the SHL next season. (bsc) - 1 August 2016, 1:46 PM
