DEL - According to Corriere del Ticino journalist Flavio Viglezio, SC Bern's former forward Glen Metropolit will definitely leave Switzerland and join Ryan MacMurchy (ex-EHC Biel) and Brandon Buck (ex-EHC Basel) in Ingolstadt.

The 40-year-old former SC Bern forward has reportedly not received an offer from another Swiss team and was therefore looking for a different solution. ERC Ingolstadt, who is coached by Larry Huras, gave him the chance to continue his career in the DEL.

Metropolit joined SC Bern from HC Lugano (34 points in 40 games) in the beginning of February to replace Finnish forward Mikko Lehtonen, who got sent the other way. However, Metropolit was a healthy scratch in seven of the last ten games of the regular season, which did not bode well for a possible contract extension.

UPDATE Contrary to what has been reported by our original source, Glen Metropolit has not signed with DEL's ERC Ingolstadt, but with the Adler Mannheim. He will join the German team for the upcoming season 2014-15. (source: Adler Mannheim) - 29 July 2014, 12:50 PM
