During Tuesday's derby between HC Ambrì-Piotta and HC Lugano, the visitors' Calle Andersson had to toss the towel early. His club has now announced that the defenseman suffered a rib fracture plus an injury to his internal abdominal oblique.
It is not yet known for how long the 28-year-old will be sidelined, but there will be a reevaluation of his injuries in two weeks.
Another member of the Bianconeri's infirmary, Giovanni Morini, should be able to return coming week.
