Charlie Roumeliotis (NBCS) writes on Twitter that, with nine games remaining, the Chicago Blackhawks have shut Philipp Kurashev down for the season. Roumeliotis adds that the 23-year-old forward will need some time to recover ,but does not require surgery. It is thus unlikely that Kurashev will be able to participate in the World Championships in May.
