MEDICAL REPORT - As journalist Andrea Toreggiani (RSI) reports on Twitter, defenseman Julien Vauclair and goaltender Martin Gerber will both not play in the World Championship in Minsk.

HC Lugano's defenseman Julien Vauclair has suffered a concussion and will therefore definitely miss the World Championship.

As for the Kloten Flyers' goaltender Martin Gerber, he has turned down head coach Sean Simpson's invitation, probably due to a foot injury he sustained during the playoffs, and will also not be part of the Swiss national team during the upcoming tournament.

With Vauclair and Gerber, there is now a long list of players, who either did not follow Simpson's call or could not due to injuries: Martin Plüss, Ryan Gardner (both SC Bern), Dino Wieser, Dario Bürgler (both HC Davos), Julien Sprunger, Andrej Bykov (both Fribourg-Gottéron), Lukas Flüeler, Roman Wick (both ZSC Lions), Matthias Bieber and Patrick von Gunten (both Kloten Flyers) will all not play in Minsk.
