Swiss National Team

National team head coach Patrick Fischer has announced his squad for the final week of preparation before the World Championships. This is very likely the team that will also travel to Moscow.

Christoph Bertschy (Iowa Wild/AHL), Matthias Bieber (EHC Kloten), Romain Loeffel (Genève-Servette HC), Tristan Scherwey, and Ramon Untersander (both SC Bern), however, did not make the cut.

According to the press release, this roster will only be modified in case of an injury. However, the door is still open for the Nashville Predators' defenseman Roman Josi, as announced yesterday.

This week, the Swiss national team will also play their last preparation game before their trip to Russia. They will face Germany in Basel on Tuesday. The game will be streamed live on the SRG websites. (bsc)
