HC Fribourg-Gottéron might already have found a replacement for their injured Canadian defenseman Alexandre Picard. As swisshockeynews.ch has learned, the 27-year-old Keaton Ellerby might end up with the Dragons.

Ellerby has played for Team Canada in the 2015 edition of the Spengler Cup. This is when first reports appeared that the Canadian defenseman is interested in playing in the National League A. Only a couple of days later his wish might become true and he might join HC Fribourg-Gottéron.

The 27-year-old had played for KHL team Barys Astana this season and put up two goals and seven assists in 42 games. However, his contract was terminated shortly before Christmas due to "disciplinary reasons", as the club announced on their website. (tme)
