EVZ's team manager Reto Kläy described McIntyre: "A leader, a fighter, a scorer and a playmaker - David meets all the requirements we expect from a foreigner, and he is an important personality within our team."
The Canadian joined EV Zug from Liiga's SaiPa in summer last year and has established himself as a key player ever since. With 66 points out of 63 played games, he finished the 2016-17 season as the team's topscorer.
This term thus far, McIntyre has suited up in nine games for Zug, in which he managed to put up two goals and four assists.
