As EHC Biel's Martin Steinegger tells Watson's Klaus Zaugg, they have never been in contact with Bob Hartley (photo). They are also not interested in Dan Ratushny and Sean Simpson.

The SonntagsZeitung reported on Sunday that there were rumors that Hartley is among the candidates for Biel's vacant head coaching position. However, both Hartley and Steinegger deny that they have been in contact.

As for Ratushny, the former Lausanne HC head coach never applied for the job and would not match the type of coach Steinegger is looking for. As for Sean Simpson, who has been relieved of his duties by the Adler Mannheim today, he is also not among the candidates.

Steinegger also adds that they have not talked with Lars Leuenberger, who told the Berner Zeitung when asked about the vacant head coaching job that he is happy in Bern at the moment. Should the Seelanders decide they want him, they "will just make him an offer which he then can reject or accept." Fellow former SC Bern head coach Antti Törmänen, however, remains a candidate, as Steinegger confirms to Zaugg.
