SC Bern informs that they have agreed to terms with EHC Kloten's forward Matthias Bieber. The 31-year-old has signed a two-year contract through to the 2019-20 season.

Bieber started his career with the GCK Lions before moving into the National League where he first played for the ZSC Lions and the SCL Tigers. In 2010, he became part of the EHC Kloten franchise and was named assistant captain in the 2015-16 season. In 634 games in the highest Swiss league, the fast two-way forward scored 137 goals and 126 assists (263 points).

Bieber was also part of the silver medal-winning Swiss national team at the World Championship 2013 and was a member of the 2014 Olympic team. In total, he dressed up for 81 international games, putting up 15 goals and ten assists.
