As anticipated by the SonntagsBlick, EHC Kloten has signed forward Spencer Abbott for the rest of the season. He will arrive in Kloten in the next couple of days.

The 29-year-old forward started the season with the San Diego Gulls (AHL) but was then traded to the Binghamton Devils on December 8. However, he never reported to the AHL team.

As GM Tom Fitzgerald revealed to Rob Lippolis a week ago, he was suspended without pay: "A kid that's a bit confused, not sure what he wants to do, where he wants to play. [...] He was suspended without pay last Sunday or Monday." Now, it is clear that he made the decision to play in Switzerland. In 17 AHL games this season, he has recorded six goals and 14 assists.
