The 27-year-old forward is currently in his first season outside of North America. He was only allowed to part ways with Barys Astana because they missed the playoffs. In 50 games for them, he put up 17 goals and 35 assists.

Vey had been drafted by the L.A. Kings and played 139 NHL games for them, the Vancouver Canucks, and the Calgary Flames. However, he spent most of his career playing in the AHL, recording 81 goals and 162 assists in 295 games. He is part of Canada's team for the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.
