The 30-year-old forward most recently played for Barys Astana from the Kontinental Hockey League (29 points in 42 games). However, as the KHL-team will not make it to the playoffs this year, the club decided to release Frattin from his contract on Wednesday this week.

In his career, the Toronto Maple Leafs' 2007 fourth round pick played in 141 NHL games for Toronto, Los Angeles, Columbus (37 points) and 250 games on AHL level (173 points). In summer last year, Frattin moved overseas to join Barys Astana.

With Jonas Junland, Martin Gernát, Dustin Jeffrey, Nicklas Danielsson, Harri Pesonen and Matt Frattin, Lausanne HC currently has six foreigners on their roster.
