According to La Regione, forward Zach Boychuk might join Genève-Servette HC for the remainder of the season.

The Canadian is part of HC Slovan Bratislava, but the team did not make the playoffs in the KHL so they are more willing to release players. Boychuk has played 33 games this season, recording eleven goals and twelve assists. He is still practicing with Slovan, but as a source tells La Regione,  "his departure to Switzerland is a real possibility".

The 28-year-old was part of Team Canada for the Spengler Cup. He managed to find the back of the net three times and assisted on one goal.

As swisshockeynews.ch has learned from the player's agent Aljoša Pilko later today, Boychuk is set to stay with Slovan, at least for now. "We have received several requests from teams of the SHL, Extraliga (CZE), and the National League. But, Zach is a player of HC Slovan Bratislava and we have to honor this contract."

Howsoever, the final regular season game in the Kontinental Hockey League will be played on March 1. Whether the KHL-team and the player agree to terminate their contract already earlier than that remains to be seen.
