"It was a real pleasure to play in front of these fans, to live in this hockey city and in this beautiful region," the 29-year-old states. "I also met super guys, I had a lot of fun forming complementary trios on the ice with Alain (Miéville) and Ossi (Louhivaara), or with Eti (Froidevaux) and Eric (Walsky)."

Pesonen will thus leave Lausanne HC after four straight seasons. He moved to the shores of lake Geneva from AHL's Albany Devils in 2014 and has appeared in almost 200 games for the Lions ever since, recording 60 goals and 87 assists.

Where the Finn will continue his career is still unclear so far. As he tells 24 heures, however, he hopes to find a new team in Switzerland: "I know that my agent is working in this direction. We will see. One thing is certain: it is still too early to return to Finland."
