Maurer has been suspended for his hit to the head of HC Davos’ Yannick Frehner in the 45th minute of play in the game on Saturday, March 17. Additionally, he will have to pay a fine of CHF 4,100. However, EHC Biel will not accept Maurer's punishment. According to CEO Daniel Villard, the Seelanders have decided to appeal the single judge's verdict.
Morant and Wetzel will not be suspended. Morant was under investigation for a potential Head Butting against the ZSC Lions’ Chris Baltisberger. However, he will likely still miss the game, as he was injured in the 40th minute of play of Saturday's game. Wetzel, for his part, was under investigation for a potential hit to the head of HC Davos’ Dario Simion.
