Team manager Martin Steinegger called upon the 28-year-old defenseman because of the two-game suspension of Marco Maurer. Weisskopf was also of interest to Genève-Servette HC and Lausanne HC, but he decided to let Biel acquire his B-license.
As for his future, Weisskopf still does not have a contract in place for the upcoming season. He tells the newspaper, however, that he is in contact with some Swiss League teams. In 42 games for HCC this season, he recorded two goals and 17 assists.
