"From a sporting point of view, there is a common desire to work together in the future," HC Sierre's president, Alain Bonnet, told Le Nouvelliste, confirming also that his committee has accepted a sporting partnership with Genève-Servette HC starting next season.

In other words, GSHC would loan out young players to HC Sierre in the future, so that they can gain a maximum of ice time and responsibility in Switzerland's fourth-highest league. "Seen from our side, we also need players to fill up our roster," Bonnet added.

As a reminder, back in mid-June last year, HC Sierre officially agreed to an extended collaboration with GSHC, and in a next step to become their farm team. It was communicated that a specific project for the 2018-19 season would be worked out and submitted to the League until the end of 2017.
