Slater, 35, joined Fribourg last Summer. He spent two seasons with Genève-Servette before the move. Prior to that, Slater suited up six years in the organization of the Atlanta Thrashers (NHL) and four years for the Winnipeg Jets after the relocation of the franchise. Now he will add a fourth year in Switzerland, his second with Fribourg.

The past season, Slater put up 31 points (14 goals and 17 assists) in 45 regular season games and was kept off the scoresheet in the one playoff-appearance he made. He also served as an alternate captain.
