EHC Biel's Benoît Jecker has signed with EHC Kloten for the next season. However, he is not going to wait until Kloten's fate is known and is already looking at other options.

"I told my agent to be active," Jecker says to Radio RJB. Just like his EHC Biel team mate Nicholas Steiner, the 23-year-old defenseman has signed with EHC Kloten and is following the League Qualification series between Kloten and the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers closely. "As long as we don't know the final outcome, we cannot really do anything but find out [if there are other teams who would be interested]," Jecker says.

Apparently, there are teams that would be interested in his services if Kloten were to actually have to go down to the Swiss League. Among them is Jecker's current team, EHC Biel. "At the end-of-season talks, Martin Steinegger told me that they would be interested," the 23-year-old says to the same source. "But they are only 'interested' and 'if' - we are still uncertain."

This season, Benoît Jecker appeared in 62 games for EHC Biel, in which he scored three goals and added 13 assists for 16 points.
