Pestoni has a valid contract in place with the ZSC Lions through to April next year. The reigning Swiss Champions, however, recently disclosed that they would no longer count on the forward and that he is in principle free to look for a new team, or to play with the GCK Lions next season.

The Corriere del Ticino initially reported that Pestoni supposedly signed a one-year contract with HCD, including an option for an additional year. Approached by the Tages-Anzeiger later today, HC Davos president Gaudenz Domenig, however, denied this news. He claimed that there is still just the interest in the player and that a possible signing would depend on several factors.

Although the club's budget is tight and they are expected to add two more imports for the upcoming season, Domenig explicitly stated that a departure of Mauro Jörg is not required to sign Pestoni. Jörg could stay with them after all, and Pestoni be signed. As a consequence, however, there would be less money left for additional import-players. "It's up to coach Arno Del Curto. But in the end, the budget has to work out," Domenig added.

This past season, the 26-year-old winger suited up in a total of 51 games for ZSC Lions, recording six goals and 17 assists.
