The 24-year-old was looking for a new challenge and has found it in Zug. After four seasons with HC Davos, he has inked a two-year deal with EVZ. Their team manager Reto Kläy sees a lot of potential in the young forward: "He is a tall and strong forward with scoring abilities, who can also be used on the power play."

Simion is a product of HC Ambrì-Piotta's youth organization, but he left the club in the youth stages to join HC Lugano. For the Bianconeri, he made his debut in Switzerland's highest league in the 2010-11 season. In the past season with HC Davos, he recorded 15 points (five goals, ten assists) in 56 games.
