According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, there is only one uncertainty about the ZSC Lions' squad for the upcoming season. With Inti Pestoni gone, all eyes are set on the future of veteran defenseman Severin Blindenbacher. The 35-year-old has been thinking about his career after another severe concussion, which left him sidelined for the major part of the past season. Although nothing has been decided yet, team manager Sven Leuenberger does not count on Blindenbacher coming back anymore, the NZZ writes.

Since his return from a stint in Sweden and North America, where he played for the AHL's Texas Stars, Blindenbacher has played seven seasons in the blue-white-red jersey of the ZSC Lions. His contract is still running for another two years, until 2020. In the past season, the 35-year-old only played ten games, in which he recorded two assists.
