Grégory Beaud (20 minutes / Le Matin) reported last week that the Lions had issued a contract offer to the 33-year-old Canadian. Mitchell played well over 700 NHL games throughout his career.
He ended last season with the Los Angeles Kings after he had been traded to them by the Montréal Canadiens at the end of last November. In 53 games for them, he recorded six goals and five assists.
