"We are very pleased that Tanner is extending with GSHC. He played a big role in leading the team into the playoffs last season, particularly through his skills, leadership and faceoff experience," GSHC's head coach Chris McSorley is quoted. "Tanner is very popular in the dressing room and he is a player with whom I personally look forward to working coming season."

Richard, a product of the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, joined the Grenats from the Tampa Bay Lighting organization last summer after having spent six years playing overseas. This past season, the 25-year-old managed to put up eight goals and 31 assists in 54 games with Genève-Servette HC.
