In order to provide their young players with the best conditions to develop, the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and HC Thurgau team up.

Separated by roughly 43 kilometres, Weinfelden and Rapperswil are going to be much closer to each other in the future when it comes to hockey. The two teams have decided to form a "long-term partnership", as they write in a joint press release. The partnership is set to start this season.

In their plans for the future, both teams emphasise the value of their homegrown talents. HC Thurgau and the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers see an big opportunity in the new partnership agreement to provide their youngsters with the best conditions to lead them to a higher level.

Young players of the Lakers are supposed to receive ice-time in the Swiss League, ambitious players from Thurgau might be able to make their first steps in the National League. Moreover, the two teams also want to build a partnership between their respective youth departments.
