According to 24 heures, Cody Almond will not join Lausanne HC for the upcoming 2018-19 season, as the player and the club could not agree on financial terms.

Almond still has a ongoing contract with Genève-Servette HC through to April 2019. As reported by RTS-journalist Marc-André Berset at the end of April this year, however, the club is trying to get rid of him and to find him a new employer.

Just one month later, in June, the same source reported that Almond had signed a three-year contract with Lausanne HC, valid as of the 2019-20 season, and that the forward might even move to Lausanne one year earlier.

But, since the 29-year-old Swiss-Canadian and LHC apparently could not agree on financial terms, an early move is not going to happen, 24 heures revealed today. This past season, Almond suited up in a total of 28 games for GSHC, recording ten points (six goals, four assists).
