The US-American's ankle injury experienced a fallback, so the club decided to sign the Czech forward as replacement.

Former Czech international, Jiří Novotný

Bryan Lerg was out for a few weeks in the pre-season but returned to HC Ambrì-Piotta's lineup last week. Now he suffered a relapse and will be sidelined for another three to four weeks.

As replacement, the Biancoblu have signed forward Jiří Novotný until the international break in early November. The 35-year-old Czech joins them from HC Plzeň (Czech Extraliga), where he has played two games so far this season.

During his career, Novotný has suited up 193 times in the NHL (Buffalo, Washington, Columbus) and 440 times in the KHL (for various teams). He also played in the AHL (243 games for the Rochester Americans).
