Genève-Servette HC has been looking for replacements for their injured import players Tommy Wingels and Lance Bouma. They found one in Jack Skille, and now they managed to add another one, namely Daniel Winnik. He joins the Grenats until the end of the season.

Winnik spent the last month on a PTO with the Boston Bruins but has been released from the NHL-team last Monday, October 1. A ninth round draft pick by the Arizona Coyotes in 2004, the 33-year-old suited up 861 times for various teams in the NHL over the last decade, recording 82 goals and 173 assists.

"Daniel is a very experienced and multi-dimensional player", head coach Chris McSorley comments on the Canadian. "His and Jack Skille's arrival and the imminent comeback of Tommy Wingels will add a new dimension to our offense."
