On Tuesday, Ehlers' met with his agent André Rufener. Rufener mentions to Der Bund that he would like the Dane to be able to coach a championship contender for once, but that Ehlers likes it in Langnau and for coaches, a change of scenery will seldom come at the right time.
Ehlers joined the SCL Tigers' early in the 2016-2017 season, replacing Scott Beattie as the team's head coach. In January 2018, the Dane signed a one-year extension with Langnau. The new contract includes an option for an additional season which has to be activated by the end of November, which means there are a bit more than two weeks left to do so.
The Tigers' coaching duo, Ehlers and his assistant Rikard Franzén, are also in charge of the Danish national team.
