Burren made his National League debut in the 2015-2016 season, when he suited up three times for SC Bern. The next year, he was mainly playing for EHC Visp. Last season, he earned a regular spot in the Bears' lineup, appearing in 49 games and also scoring his first National League goal.

This season, the 21-year-old has played in all 17 of Bern's games so far, recording three goals and one assist.
