David Desharnais has not decided on his future yet. As his agent, Aljoša Pilko, tells swisshockeynews.ch, the Canadian " is committed to Omsk and a long run in the playoffs this season." What will come after that is not yet known, as Pilko says they have not yet had any contract talks for next year. "He will decide after the season where to play", the agent comments.

On HC Fribourg-Gottéron's side, the reports about Desharnais have also been denied. Team manager Christian Dubé describes the 32-year-old's visit as courtesy, and the club's president Michel Volet used the phrase "fake news" when asked about the former NHL-forward, as La Liberté reports.

Desharnais spent 16 games with the Dragons during the NHL's lockout in the first half of the 2012-2013 season. He is currently in his first full season outside of North America.
