According to the Journal du Jura (relayed by SwissHabs), the SCL Tigers have offered Earl a deal over multiple seasons. Biel, on the other hand, would prefer to extend the 33-year-old forward's contract for just one year.

Earl joined Biel in 2016, he is in his third full season with the team. He has appeared in 147 games for them so far, recording 44 goals and 79 assists. It is his second time in Switzerland, as he already suited up for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers and EV Zug from 2012 to 2015.
